rajetta: Wow, both AT&T and Apple are making ton of money. Remember, AT&T is not giving any discount nor paying any commission to retailers. For RAZR, where they gave it for practically free. I am inside business and I know that subsidies range any where from $100 to $300 (includes device subsidy and retailer commission).
If you are getting a new contract with AT&T and smart enough, you do the following -
1. Get a decent phone (Ex: Sony Ericsson W810i – you MAKE $175 after rebate) from amazon.com or letstalks.com
2. Once your account is setup, buy iPhone and add data plan.Bingo! You got a very good 2nd phone for -(minus)175 dollars. I know it works and I did the same thing , so as my friends. Why give AT&T free money?

Hortos: I’m getting an iPhone because my treo 650 doesn’t have 3g and sprint doesn’t offer a 750 and I don’t want PalmOS anymore so the 755p is out, I don’t want a 700wx because its old. Solution buy iPhone, put Zune in the car permanently, use the iPhone with one of those cheapo deapo pre-paid plans for the EDGE which is 3 times faster than PCS Vision, wait around will Treo that is WM6 and EVDO comes out with Sprint. Then I’ll have a ridiculously expensive iPod that will hopefully have 3rd Party support by then… Wow this kinda sucks ah well. Don’t hate on people who can buy a bunch of stuff, you probably could too if you try.

Yes there is hype but the apple hatters are the ones that caused it. Remember Mac lovers are a small market, it was the apple haters that made all the fuss about it.
