What other user say about this:

kkcoolj: If you are interested in downloading individual ringtones and/or listening to them play before you download, here’s the list of the iPhone ringtones and playable clips: http://www.essistme.com/2007/07/05/sounds-like-a-cure-for-apple-iphone-envy/

xxkirbs119xx: dont bother wasting space on your computer guys.
i have the ipone and the ringtones are nothing to get excited over.
im pissed that i cant get my own ringtones.. fuck apple and their brilliant ideas. i want my old piece of crap phone and my on ringtones back.

diggerdoo: What about iphoneringtones.com?

imyayo: Boring tones.

HolyHesus: what a disappointment. However alarm would be fun in the middle of class.

twirk8888: http://media.putfile.com/iPhone-Remix

joegibes: If/When I get an iPhone, the first thing I’m gonna do is set the ringtone to ‘Siren’, turn the ring volume up, and call it with my old phone (in a public place).

mechanisma22: I want the No Adults – 16KHz tones like I have on my razr, but I will just keep it on vibrate and have phantom vibrations like I do now.

kutateli: those were pathetic

ToastyMallows: The ringtones are terrible. Buried.

talisto: What’s really sad about this is that practically any/every loop included with Apple’s GarageBand application (there’s hundreds of them) makes for a better ringtone than any of those included with the iphone. GarageBand’s loops are a fantastic resource for custom ringtones (among other things).

iStunT: They didn’t make a lot of these, they took some from iMovie. The bark, the alarm, the bell tower, the cricket, the duck, the motorcycle, the old phone, and the pinball all came from iMovie. The only two ring tones (if you can even call them that) I like are the “xylophone” and “marimba”, the rest are terrible.

TexMachina: Can you play an MP3 as your ringtone? I can on my Audiovox 6700 but a lot of phones break this feature for monetary reasons.

nunofgs: Here is marimba in midi format (for older phones)

synagence: Oh my god …. on top of the other features that were making me consider not getting an iphone when they launch over in UK this has been the final nail …

I would have to have phone on silent permanently … they are terrible quite simply the worst ringtones i have ever heard for a modern device.
Apple MUST change this lock-down and “apple knows best” attiutude
