Last night, iPhone hackers “dinopio” and “Edgan” brought 1.1.1 hacking into a new arena. By using symbolic links before doing a 1.1.1 upgrade, they were able to gain access to the entire 1.1.1 file tree. Today, I’ll be liveblogging my attempt to duplicate their hack. iPod Touch Dev Team has discovered the old malformed TIFF exploit in iPhone 1.0.2 and 1.1.1 to crash. This also applies to iPod Touch 1.1 and 1.1.1. It
’s all about crafted TIFF file which will cause buffer overflow. The hackint0sh people said it was used to crack the PSP firmware, but not sure whether it will help to jailbreak….

Analysts for investment bank Piper Jaffray recently spent more time tracking unit sales at Apple Inc.’s retail stores and reported Thursday that their observations indicate that as many as 10 percent of the iPhones sold by the stores during the month of September were being purchased with the intention to be resold unlocked.

there’s gonna be a pretty substantial update to iTunes sometime this month that
’ll help to bring AppleTV back from the teetering edge of extinction. Apple has apparently placed a gargantuan order for more AppleTV units in anticipation for the upcoming “iTunes HD” or whatever it’ll be called.

Apple has seeded version 1.1 of ZFS for Mac OS X to Developers this week. The preview updates a previous build released on June 26, 2007.
In the release notes, Apple confirms that the original release of Mac OS X Leopard (10.5) will only offer Read-Only ZFS. As a result, no ZFS pools or filesy…
