Nomura consultant Shunichi Kita had this to say about the Apple iPhone: “I have been very proud of Japanese mobile phones. But this time, I have an uneasy feeling. I am very sorry Japanese manufacturers didn’t produce a phone like this.”[…] Thanks to CLIFFosakaJAPAN for providing this nice story on Digg (more than 30Diggs).
What other users say about this:
barnis: I live in Japan and recently switched to a Nokia phone after many frustrating experiences with Japanese phones and their horrible interfaces and shitty specs…(30 seconds to save a photo, weird audio format requirements, no bluetooth, etc)
The Nokia is much better (N73) but they still managed to cripple it with locks to only symbian signed stuff…The Japanese need to get their shit together in the phone world…despite what many americans think they are NOT so advanced here. On paper maybe but in reality no-one uses the advanced features because they’re so slow and clunky to use.
streak: Kita: “I am very sorry” and falls on sword.
DanteDefiance: What’s this? We’ve produced an electronic device JAPAN is jealous of?
